National Collegiate Rugby (NCR) is committed to the development of college rugby by providing a wide array of services and governance for men’s and women’s collegiate rugby programs. NCR provides student-athletes with opportunities, inspiration and recognition. Their mission is to foster the on and off-field growth and development of collegiate rugby teams, student athletes and coaches. Every year they host the Collegiate Rugby Championship - the largest collegiate rugby tournament in the United States. May Madness 7’s was held in New Orleans in 2022 with over 110 different teams competing to win their division championship title.

Strategize

NCR came to Madak with one large overarching need: a substantial digital rebuild, and the roadmap forward on how to achieve their vision for the 2022 Collegiate Rugby Championships (CRC). The CRC had an established brand, but the website, digital media, and print media needed to be refreshed and centralized. Madak knew they needed a clear roadmap and timeline for all assets to ensure that the fans and competeing teams could interact with the organization through a solidified brand.

Create

Madak built a brand new website from top to bottom with graphics, content and new features to host 2022’s tournament progress and results. We leveraged their brand and took it one step further by providing artistic direct for the bracket challenge leaderboard website. Madak created a modular schedule, score ticker, and bracket page for fans to access. Fans were able to see live results from the games as soon as they were over. Leading up to the tournament, Madak maintained, updated, and posted weekly on the website.

Madak helped May Madness 7’s team identify issues with their current paid media strategy and helped them launch a new unified front for their digital presence. The new paid media strategy  on Google Search & Display leveraged a cohesive look that aligned with their website and social media.

The tournament was a huge success! Madak flew down to New Orleans to capture film and photos from the three day tournament, while providing on-site website and creative support. We helped pull together and define their brand with a cohesive marketing strategy and assets to leverage in the future.
