Go-to-market strategy. Who you sell to, and how.

Madak is a go-to-market strategy consultant for B2B companies: we define who you sell to, what you say and which channels come first, then write it into a plan your whole team uses.

Who it’s for. Companies whose story fell behind.

A go-to-market plan answers three questions in writing: who exactly you’re for, what you say to them, and where and in what order you show up. Without it, sales and marketing each write their own answer, and buyers hear two companies.

  • The company has changed and the story hasn’t
  • Sales and marketing describe two different companies
  • You’re launching a new product, market or brand
  • Every channel gets a little budget and none gets enough
  • You can’t say who your best customer is in one sentence
  • Prospects compare you to the wrong competitors

That’s exactly the work we do.

What’s included. The plan, in writing.

  • Positioning

The category you compete in, what makes you the obvious choice in it, and the competitors buyers actually weigh you against.

  • Ideal customer profile

The companies you win most profitably, and the people on the buying committee inside them.

  • Messaging framework

What you say, in what order, to each buyer, written so the whole company uses the same words.

  • Channel strategy

Which channels matter, in what order, with the budget and the number each one answers to.

  • Campaign and launch roadmap

What ships first, tied to a revenue goal and sequenced with the work it depends on.

  • Success metrics

The numbers the plan is judged on, and the reporting that tracks them.

How it runs. Diagnose, decide, write it down.

  1. Diagnose

    First week

Interviews with leadership and sales, and a review of your pipeline, your competitors and what buyers see today.

  2. Decide

    Next weeks

Working sessions where we agree on the customer, the position and the message, together.

  3. Write it down

    Then

The go-to-market plan and roadmap in plain language, with the first Sprint of work named.

  4. Reset

    Every quarter

The plan is checked against the numbers and changed when the market moves.

Plans that held. Written down, then built.

Go-to-market, explained. What a good plan answers.

  • What a go-to-market strategy is

A go-to-market strategy is the plan for how a company reaches and wins its buyers: who they are, what you say to them, which channels you use and in what order, and how you’ll know it’s working. For a new product it’s a launch plan. For an established company it’s usually a reset, because the business has changed and the story hasn’t.

  • What a good plan answers

Not “mid-market companies,” but the kind of company you win most profitably, and who inside it signs.

The problem you solve, why you and not the alternative, and the proof, in the words your buyers use.

The two or three channels that reach those buyers, in order, each with a budget and a number it answers to.

The campaign, page or asset that goes out in the first Sprint, and what follows it.

  • Why it comes first

Every Madak engagement starts with the plan, because building the wrong thing well is the most expensive mistake in marketing. A new website, a campaign and a CRM all work better when they’re pointed at the same customer with the same message. The plan also decides which of the four pillars the work starts in.

  • Consultant or partner?

A consultant hands you a recommendation and leaves. We hand you the same recommendation and then build it, with the people who wrote it still in the room. If you’d rather take the plan somewhere else to build, you can: the plan is yours.

  • What it looks like in practice

For the University of Florida’s rugby alumni association, the plan brought three separate programs under one name, set two-year and ten-year targets, and priced both programs’ budgets line by line. The US Rugby Foundation’s plan set two goals, one million American rugby players by 2033 and $750,000 a year in grants, programs and scholarships, and the campaigns since are measured against them.

Most plans take a few weeks: a week of diagnosis, working sessions to decide the customer, position and message, then the written plan with the first Sprint named. After that, it’s reviewed every quarter.

When the company has changed and the story hasn’t: a new product, a new market, a merger or a new leader, or sales and marketing describing two different companies.

Positioning, ideal customer profile, messaging, and the sequenced roadmap of which services we activate and in what order. It answers two questions in writing: what are we doing, and why this before that.

A consultant hands you a recommendation and leaves. We hand you the same recommendation and then build it, with the people who wrote it still in the room. The plan and the execution don't get separated, so nothing is lost in translation and nobody gets to blame the other side.

Yes. The plan is yours. We'd rather write a plan you execute elsewhere than build something we can't defend. It happens, and it's fine.

Because it's the part that takes the most senior people and creates the most value, and pretending it's free means it gets done badly. Every agency claims strategy is included. What that usually means is a kickoff call and a slide. We're charging for it because we're actually doing it.
